1993 – 1999

Focus was on environmental activities during 1993-1998, then in 1999 Wisnu Foundation started work with village communities:

Integrated waste management: TPA Buwit in Tabanan; hotels in Jimbaran, Nusa Dua, Kuta, and Sanur; several banjars in Denpasar
Environmental education for primary and junior high school students in Jimbaran and Kuta, and public awareness-raising environmental campaigns
Environmental Analysis: the dye industry in Denpasar, monitoring of sea water quality in Legian beach
Watershed management research: Yeh Ho watershed in Tabanan
Rapid identification of village potential and problems in Lawak Belok/Sidan, Kiadan Pelaga, Dukuh Sibetan, Tenganan Pegringsingan, Nusa Ceningan
Together with local communities, created a spatial management plan in each of the above communities

Results of programs:

Created a functional waste management for use by hotels (CV. Jimbaran Lestari)
Created ongoing recycling programs (paper pick up and recycled paper making)
Management plan of Yeh Ho watershed, Tabanan
Program of preparation and modeling of environment and community-based tourism model (eco-tourism)
