2007 – 2012
The activities during these years were designed to improve community capacity to manage their land and resources:
- Developed the Bali DWE concept (Ecological Tourism Village)
- Managed actual and potential village resources: clean water distribution and micro-hydro development in Tenganan Pegringsingan, development of dry land agriculture in Nusa Ceningan – Lembongan, household waste management in Banjar Pengubengan Kauh, development of Taman Gumi Banten in Renon
- Community outreach for legal certification of wood to forest farmers and craftsmen of APIK Buleleng, and forest farmers in Bangli and middle-small industries in Gianyar
- Spatial village planning: Pelaga village in Badung, Banjar Kiadan Dukuh and Tenganan Pegringsingan village in Karangasem, and Lembongan village in Klungkung
- Childrens education programs: Environment Introduction through Fun Sunday and ‘Melali ajak Pak Godogan’ programs
- Publishing books and producing audiovisual materials
Results of programs:
- The concept of Balinese spirit-based community resource management (Bali DWE)
- Increased awareness of and use of local potential
- Certification of forest farmers and woodcraft groups
- Village spatial planning and management
